Yet Another Joy ........

As Americans we all enjoy alot of optional things and have come to see some of those as mandatory things for life. But it seems that some of us have differnt priorities than others do even when comng from a common background. That what even some raised in the same style, or family, will differ in the ways they live day to day.
I mean in our family alone if you look at how religion plays a role in our lives- its widely disparaged. Let alone when you look at what each of us see as what we need or want for us to live day to day. I find this quite humorous on some fronts, other fronts its quite bothersome. But as differnt as our lifestyles and choices have been we stil tolerate each other for the sake of the ones that we call Mother and Father.
Otherwise I'm sure that quite a many times, at least personally, I would have just walked away and been done with the others. Because they think the majority of life is always negotiable. I still think that no matter what people want to think its the common event that will kill America as a whole. That event will not be finding common ground or a compromise to get along. But rather a majority sale of life or wholesale sell of beliefs just so a group or person can think that it makes them more appealing to others.
Why not do something because its what you want to do? I mean other than the obsessive nature of Americans as a culture to want and need the best while only putting in a mediocre at best attempt to reach the same level. We as a nation have become to whiney and dependent on hand outs. And it needs to stop before it does cause the entire collapse of America.

WTH !!!!

I was taking time this morning and checking video feeds and such. When I came across something that I had heard briefly about on talk radio. It seems that even though this great country lost their mind long enough to elect Obama, lets add insult to injury a bit further. That would be that those closest to Obama are already holding press conferences to deflate the expectations. They have already had a press conference saying that when Obama takes office he wont have the recession or any other major issue taken care of by July 4th. Now I'm not sure when it was promised that it would be fixed by the 4th- that passed me by.
But what alarms me is that this is the SECOND MAJOR TIME they have had to reinvent expectations. First time was the Democractic convention, now even before he is in the office they are doing it again. This really does scare me and is why I was so concerned about the possibility of him being elected. BUT- now we are here and this does not bode well for the future of America.
I only pray to God that this is the end of this because anything more than this means that we will be fighting the next war for America in our backyards .... LITERALLY !!!

Gotta Love ......

In everyone's life there are certain things that you love to do. Then we have even more things that we have to do if we like it or not. That latter subject comes to mind as the Holidays come a running into our face for the end of the year. I often quip that our family puts the "fun" in dysfunctional, but as I sit here and deal with my family having returned home from "vacation" I see the truth to the quip. I love all of my family in moderation. but most days they beat that moderation to pieces. This is yet another one of those days.

Observations......

After having been on POF for a while and participating some and watching for the most part- thinking back something hit me. Everyone is looking for this perfect other person to enter their unhappy and flawed life that will magically make everything instantly better. I will agree there is someone for everyone out there; you just have to find them.

But there is no perfect person that will suddenly make life become all justified. I mean it’s just like anything else in life, would it be as rewarding if it was something easy to do? The easiest answer is that it would not be anywhere close. It comes down to something only turns out as well as the effort you put into it. Plain and simple. It seems that certain people don’t want to admit they have faults. Whatever has gone wrong in their life has always been someone else’s fault. Then they wonder why they are still alone and hurting.

It seems that most people on POF want someone else that is going to come into their life and make everything bad that’s happened to them just go away. That this other mystery person also holds all the answers to their future and financial issues. Not to mention the fact that this person will automatically and immediately love them for everything they are at that moment. Not to mention what they will become after all these solutions have come thru from the other person.

Reality is more along the lines of the fact that everyone has strengths and weaknesses in their lives and personalities. The key to making a relation work is finding that other person that offsets your personality- both the good and bad points. And that you accent their strengths and weaknesses as well. So that there is a sense of balance within you two at a natural level.

Otherwise, as you continue to get to know each other and the relation grows- it gets stale because of a lack of commonality. Meaning that besides the weakness and strengths and differences, there is nothing else to keep you together. After each other’s habits are no longer cute, but more of the lines of oh they did THAT again. You will eventually have to rely on the mental and personality compatibilities for the relation to continue to work. It’s not fun having to admit that factor, but it is a fact for a relation to last and be long term. Long term meaning more than just a year or so.

I guess what it comes down to is people want relations to be an easy thing that just happens. And like the rest of life, anything worth having comes with a good bit of work. It takes work, dedication, passion, determination, and most of all mutual love. And sometimes that means telling your “friends” that you appreciate their point of view, but you are doing what is best for yourself. It doesn’t mean to not listen, but it does mean you have to remember that they only see the outside and what you tell or convey to them about the relation. Then after all of that is considered you can decide if that’s how you wish to spend your life or not.

Who knew ...............

Its amazing the more I live life the more I figure out its more of a mystery than whats explained. I mean who knew that the line out of the movie Shooter was true when they are at the "gun expert's" house and he tells them the more you have life figured out the more it turns out to be more confusing lies.

I guess after being snake bitten for so long, I was gunshy the one time I shouldn't of been. Now it seems I have ruined what was the best thing in my life cause I thoght it was yet another trick.

Who knew ...............

Confidence or Conceit?

When does confidence become conceit or the other way around?

I mean I understand being assured of yourself, but when is enough too much?

I mean I have a friend that runs a Yahoo community and he acts like whenever he has something planned that we all just need to drop everything we're doing and run to him and his event. I don't mind going to some of them, but others I do mind and I avoid. And over that sometimes he is not a good planner. Good example, early December we were talking about Christmas and New Year's and he was saying he wasn't sure of what was going on .... So we let it go with no more discussion. Week before Christmas he tells us he has to work because of a promotion and all. So most folks I know made other plans by then an some of us even told him that we were not changing plans that short before New Year's. So I hear nothing back and go do my own thing. Well, next day I go back to his comunity and he has a vulgar post put up - followed by another post that says the first one sums it up for him. So I spoke my mind and quit the group. Now I am being told that I was in the wrong for telling him off and quitting. I told em I thought it was my right and that I thought I wasn't out of line. I got told that he had every right to do and say as he did because he owns the comunity( they're giving them away for free- how is that ownership). I mean since when did joining someone's online community constitute waiving your freedom of speech rights? I mean if that did happen I missed the passage of the law or amendment to put it to power. At any pace, now I have spent a few days of having people tell me how awful and how stupid I am for what I did. I m just curious about some other views or questions on the situation.

Its the Holdiays again.......

Well, it seems I have survived another year and am having to survive
another holiday season.  The year has been a rough one, but mainly due to lack of practicing judgement on my part. But through and through, it has taught me to think alot more and
quit flying by the seat of my pants. Things in the house have been a bit hectic this year. With one of us losing our job during the holiday season, and them also taking vacation this month as planned and it was paid for in advance. but all the same they deserved the vacation job or no job. Anyhow, it looks like with my hectic schedule this season that I wont be on here much during the actual holidays so I want to take this oppurtunity to acknowledge the 4 people that read my blog and tell y'all to have a great and safe holiday- whatever one you celebrate. I don't get too uptight about semantics on these holidays because even though the celebrations take on differnt appearances and rituals, its all about the same thing- Jesus. I just wish more people would focus on the reason for the season and not lose sight of it in all the commercialization. Anyhow, I gotta get some things done before work. Its hard keeping the armor going for the military vehicles, but someone has to do it.

Why Must ......

OK, so I just got done reading a good friend's blog on another service and just absolutely got angered at our society as a whole.  We still have some people out there who want to stand back and point a finger at attributes as to call someone a servant or slave. Do these folks just not realize that they are really pointing to themselves and showing their ignorance? I mean someone wants to post that the Black Slaves of Ohio shouldn't bother going to the polls today because their votes don't count. Now at first this angered me because the article was posted today, not in the 1800's or 1900's when that was a factor of status.

I mean lets get real for a moment and break this down. Most of the slaves came over from Africa willingly to get a better life for them and their kids and to earn their freedom. They were most times originally tol dthey would be paid in room and board and food. Now that sounds a little bot like something else to me, but lets stop at the dictionary and take a look around first:

Main Entry: 1slave
Pronunciation: 'slAv
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English sclave, from Anglo-French or Medieval Latin; Anglo-French esclave, from Medieval Latin sclavus, from Sclavus Slavic; from the frequent enslavement of Slavs in central Europe during the early Middle Ages
1 : a person held in servitude as the chattel of another
2 : one that is completely subservient to a dominating influence

Main Entry: 1in·den·ture
Pronunciation: in-'den(t)-sh&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English endenture, from Anglo-French, from endenter
1 a (1) : a document or a section of a document that is indented (2) : a formal or official document usually executed in two or more copies (3) : a contract binding one person to work for another for a given period of time -- often used in plural b : a formal certificate (as an inventory or voucher) prepared for purposes of control c : a document stating the terms under which a security (as a bond) is issued

and lets take this one step further:

Main Entry: indentured servant
Function: noun
: a person who signs and is bound by indentures to work for another for a specified time especially in return for payment of travel expenses and maintenance

Now, I found these definitions on Merriam-Webster's Dictionary website. So its a reliable source as to their meanings. Now, reading those three definitions it sounds like there are alot more slaves running around America than most want to admit to it. And I guarantee you that if you point out to most people that they are the modern day equivalency to the previous slaves they would be offended- but should they? I would think not. You have to work to pay for what you use and possess and sometimes that also includes upkeep. But why is it in this modern age that there are still some folks that feel the need to point out factors that are now mute.

I hope and pray that all that are eligible to vote today will in whatever country you live in, use your voice and vote. And just because you go in to vote doesn't mean you have to vote for all the issues and all. You can vote for only what you want and you don't have to vote for all of the issues/candidates on the ballot. Now if ya do choose to vote selectively, and you don't like who won a race that you didn't participate in by voting. Then just shut your mouth now, no vote means
no say in the elections or results.

This is why the last immigration bill angered me so much. Why are we giving away our right to vote to people that have no vested interest in our country other than to come in and work for substandard wages and then live ten to fifteen poeple in a place made for two or three and let them send the money they save back overseas for more of them to come over and do the same thing. When are we gonna stand up and say enough is enough and we wont take anymore. I am not against legal migration, my great geat grandfather came over despite being a Jewish-German and he went thru all the hurdles that were presented to him to come to America. Just because these people can sneak into our country to work illegally, does NOT mean we have to accomodate them living here. I still say we start pulling back troops and putting them on the borders and telling them shoot any who don;t come across at an appropriate place like a border crossing. After a few weeks of a couple thousand folks dying for coming into this country illegally, then and only then will people stop sneaking into America.

Is Microsoft overstepping their bounds?

Ok, so we all know that Microsoft loves to make something a craze and then abandon it. They did it with chat and now they are trying to do it with their browser. I thought Internet Explorer 7( IE7) was a freee download for public use. Thats the way it appears on their site, they tell you nothing else about it. But download it and try to install it, they want you to validate your copy of Windows. Some of us use Linux as our prime OS becuase Microsoft is so greedy. I mean honestly, as soon as I can pick up a copy of OS X for Intel, I will install it in a heartbeat and enjoy the performance boost over any version of Windows. Thats part of the reason why I use Fedora Core 5 with CGYWin plug in and my old faithful copy of Windows 2000 Pro as its basis. But try to download IE7 using 2000Pro and it wont happen.

And to boot that thought, why is it Microsoft thinks that their new Vista is worth 200 plus bucks when almost 4 or 5 years later they still haven't finished fixing XP ? If Microsoft really wanted to reduce their piracy rate they would put their pricing in line with other OS's and that would be closer to about a hundred bucks for a fully functioning copy of their software. Its not like the days of Windows 95 when they had the corner on the market. There are alternatives out there on the market now and Microsoft doesn't have the market cornered.

Going back to the original arguement about IE7 needing validated. Why would I waste my time and have to reboot my computer at least twice when I can download at least 3 other browsers out there and not need to reboot the puter for it to take hold. I mean there is Firefox 2.0, Opera 9.0, Maxthon, and even the old standby of Lynx. And they all install without a hitch. But to get to IE7, you have to validate. If its a free download, why do we have to validate it? Its not an integrated part of Windows, is that not overstepping the bounds of common sense and going back towards the monoply that Windows was originally heading toward? Only in America are people so lapsidisical and willing to just take what comes on a computer without questioning if there isn't something better out there for themselves to use.

Trying to find the rest of the song ......

OK, I have heard this song before and I think its either Kid Rock or Eminem ... anyhow, I want the song if its available ... it goes like this ........

Maria has 15 little beaners
because Jose won't put a condom on his little weiner.
La Cucaracha is their national song
singing about themselves all day long...
The buzzard rag waves in their front yard,
but they won't leave America....******* retards!
Viva la raza is what they say
We know beaners are totally gay.
What is that I see in Jose's truck?
Looks like curtains but ugly as ****.
Mexican women think they are true divas....
funny thing is they are all named Maria!
Jose's at the flea market, picking his nose.
Buying Maria more maternity clothes.
Beaners love fat women with bleach blonde hair.
That one Jesus has....rolls everywhere!!!
Carnival music plays on the night air....
Preparing foreplay for beanbags everywhere.

Let me know if ya know where the song is or the title. Also please note this is not meant as a personal dig on anyone, just a generalization that I agree with overall. If ya wanna come to America do it like most of our families have done it ... legally and with consent.
